NOTE: The November and December dates will be combined to one event on Wednesday, December 3, 5-7 pm.
Bellingham Senior Activity Center, 315 Halleck Street (next to Habitat for Humanity), 5-7 pm, last Wednesday
Generations of Pride is an intergenerational community dinner for LGBTQ+ people 18 years and older in the Bellingham/Whatcom community. Each month we have different topics for discussion and activities to help connect LGBTQ+ people across generations. Past activities have included games, crafts, trivia, and costume parties.
The event runs from 5-7 pm and involves eating potluck-style. The main course is provided, but attendees are welcome to bring a vegetarian/vegan side dish or dessert to share. Typically, there are between 50 and 90 people of all ages in attendance.
Generations of Pride is a collaboration between PFLAG Bellingham/Whatcom, Western Washington University’s LGBTQ+ Office, and the Bellingham Queer Collective. Western’s LGBTQ+ office actively hosts the event and received funding to hire a part-time coordinator and provide the main course each month.
The first event was held in January 2023 at the Mt. Baker Theater and had over 90 people in attendance. This event has continued to thrive and become a crucial connection piece for people of all ages in our community.
